That Mascara Isn’t “Vintage”… It’s Expired.

Spring cleaning doesn’t stop at your closet—your makeup bag needs attention too. And if you can’t remember when you bought it… that’s your first red flag.

Here’s a quick reality check on beauty shelf life 👇

What to replace (and when):
• Mascara: every 3 months
• Liquid eyeliner: every 3–6 months
• Cream products (concealer, blush, shadow): every 6–12 months
• Liquid foundation: every 6–12 months
• Lip gloss / liquid lipstick: every 6–12 months
• Lipstick bullets: ~12 months
• Powder products (blush, bronzer, shadow): 12–24 months
• Pencils: longer lifespan if sharpened regularly

Signs it’s time to toss it:
• Smell is off (sour, waxy, or unusual)
• Texture has changed (clumpy, separated, dried out)
• Color looks different
• Causing irritation, breakouts, or watery eyes
• Visible mold or film
• Mascara is dry, flaky, or shedding

Industry rule of thumb:
Anything near the eyes = shorter lifespan
Liquids & creams = expire faster than powders
Heat, humidity, and poor hygiene = speed up expiration

Spring cleaning your makeup bag:
• Toss anything expired or questionable
• Wash brushes & sponges (long overdue, let’s be honest)
• Wipe down packaging
• Declutter what you don’t use
• Store products in a cool, dry place (not your bathroom)

Here’s the part most people overlook:

Expired makeup doesn’t just underperform—it can compromise skin health, introduce bacteria, and impact overall product integrity.

In an industry built on performance, safety, and trust… shelf life matters.

Fresh products = better results, better hygiene, and better skin.

When was the last time you audited your makeup bag?
